A word about the books themselves: Both "Love and Sand" and "The Thirteen Club" are historically accurate and un-embellished. Indeed, history buffs will find quite a lot of new material in the former book—vital elements and activities in the desert war that have not been published elsewhere. Moreover, every facet of the military action in the book can be checked in all detail at the British National Archives at Kew Gardens in England. Astonishingly, that establishment provides every detail of every flight of the conflict throughout the war, gives the names of each of the crew members and reports all of the action they encountered and in which they participated.

And by the way, the love story that intertwines all that military action, is also, alas, quite true.
